Cinnamon Stars /Zimtsterne/

How it's made:

Cinnamon Stars are a traditional German and Swiss recipe and a favorite treat for the Holidays. Once baked, the cookies can be stored, at least 1 month, in airtight tins.

Rustic Peach Tart

How it's made:

This unpretentious rustic peach tart is a lovely combination of crispy buttery crust and lightly carmalized peaches.

The tart is prepared with the classic Pâte Brisée pastry, a French short crust pastry dough made with a lot of butter.

Strawberry Cupcakes

How it's made:

I tasted similar cupcakes, last week, in the National Gallery of Scotland's coffee shop. Only those were filled with sugar frosting and rasberries. My version is less sweet, yet mouthwatering and fragrant:)

Blend 8-10 strawberries into a blender until smooth. Puree should equal about ¾ cup. To remove the seed, pour it through a strainer.

Frosted Chocolate Balls

Shopping list:

2 packets of tea biscuits (about 175g each)
2 eggs
1 packet of butter (113.4g)
1 cup ground walnuts
1 cup powder sugar
1 tbsp cocoa powder
1/4 cup sugar for decoration

How it's made...:

Frosted Chocolate Balls are an excellent dessert for any Thanksgiving or Christmas table.
I hope you enjoy this recipe from my grandma!
Grind all the biscuits into a bowl. Scramble the eggs well into a separate medium bowl. Combine all the ingredients together except for the 1/4 cup of sugar. You can microwave the butter to soften it, but do not let it turn into liquid. Knead everything with your hands until it is well mixed and starts sticking together into one big dough-like ball.
Form small chunks of the dough into 1 inch large balls. Roll each ball into the sugar until it’s completely covered with it. Then remove the ball into a serving plate or a storing container. Continue to do that until all the dough is shaped into balls. One batch makes approximately 50-60 balls, depending on the size you make them.
Keep the Chocolate Balls refrigerated because they contain raw eggs. They can stay out for awhile while serving, but then need to be returned to the fridge.
The whole dessert takes less than an hour to make if you have an electric grinder for the biscuits.
Options: You can roll the balls in coconut shavings instead of sugar, but you may have to press the shavings into the ball because they don’t stick as well.
If you feel more ambitious, you can add compote sour cherries into the center of each ball. Most likely then the balls will be larger and harder to make.

Rice Pudding

How it's made:

Rice puddings are found in nearly every area of the world. In the Spanish speaking world the recipe is called simply Arroz con Leche. In Asia it is often refered to as Sweet Rice Porridge. The recipes vary greatly depending on the ingredients and the preparation methods. The following recipe is quick and easy to make at home.
